From the 18th November CH 5 is available on Freesat receivers, this is useful for motorhome users because anybody using a Sky receiver needs to regularly use the receiver or the card will become dormant, Freesat receivers are available from £50 a 12v High Definition unit is also available at approx £150
Free Parking for Motorhomes
At lasts a step in the right direction for Motorhome users
visiting South Devon.
Teignbridge Council have launched a trial scheme in the car parks at Dawlish Warren and Eastcliff close to the beach and the town centre.
They have realised that visitors to this area might like to stay over and they have relaxed the “no overnight” rule at these two car parks.
From 6.00pm to 9.00am you can stop overnight for a max of two nights and normal car parking fees will apply during the day.
This is for a trial period only and they will review it later.
The Motorhome Club commend this Council for this step and let us hope others follow, the stopover in Broughshane in Northern Ireland has been in use since 2003 and the village estimate that over 100,000 extra visitors came to their village because of this facility giving the local tourism a welcome boost.
There is no reason this could not be repeated all over the country and encourage tourism and in doing so give the local traders a helping hand at the same time.
